50cm Wooden Carved Vitarka Mudra Buddha Statue

Carved from one solid piece of Suar wood. Finished with lovely rich red/brown satin teak stain.

The hand gesture of this Buddha is known as 'Vitarka Mudra', with the circular position of the thumb and index finger evokes a constant flow of energy and the transmission or teachings of the Buddha. A great placement for a Vitarka Mudra Buddha is in a study, library or classroom but is equally ideal for the home.

All our Buddhas statues are carved, by hand, by local crafts men and women in Bali. We fully support a true fair trade ethic, we rent scooters or motorbikes locally, and visit and negotiate in person with local people with no agent, we even eat locally with the suppliers. We enjoy it, except for the odd bout of Bali Belly.
